JJ's Word: say. Sunday, Mar. 20, 2005 - 1:00 p.m. Yesterday, John gave me a ride to the 16th Street BART station, where I met JJ to go with her to the tattoo parlor and get her word. Tommy was there too, so we met and went over to The Sacred Rose. Here's JJ's arm before the word:
and another angle:
The work area was bright and pleasant, and the guy who worked on JJ's arm was fast and really good:
He did the outline for the letters, and swabbed away the guide ink:
It took less than twenty minutes from start to finish, and the tattoo artist was gracious enough to let me come back into the work area and take these pictures ask questions if I wanted to know anything. I asked JJ if it hurt, and she said not that much; that to her it felt about like a moderate sunburn. I also found out the artist's name was James. Anyway, here's what it looked like when it was finished:
It looked really great. Finally, here's one of JJ with James:
Lots of these pictures were taken in the natural / available light, with no flash, so nobody would be blinded / distracted, which explains the quality. There are many more pictures documenting JJ's experience, but these are the ones that are here today. :-) --- Glad Diaryland is being restored. Today, without too much fanfare, is my second anniversary here. ---
