Monday, Oct. 24, 2005 - 9:51 a.m.

Had a night of intermittent sleep last night.

Finally dropped off to sleep at three this morning, after taking a dose of cherry NyQuil to try and get to sleep when I wasn't sleepy.

At five this morning, I was awakened by a bad tummy. I took some Pepto and tried to go back to sleep.

Then my phone rang with a text message at a quarter of six. It was one of my dear friends out on the East Coast.

I sort of kind of went back to sleep until John said buh bye today at eight thirty.

Bleah.

I bet there will be a Power Nap today!...

I really love it when people who are part of the entitlement mindframe get caught:

Wal-Mart heiress who paid for homework returns degree

LOS ANGELES - Elizabeth Paige Laurie's name was on a sports arena when a former University of Southern California roommate said that Laurie, a Wal-Mart heiress, paid her $20,000 to do her homework. Now her name isn't even on a USC diploma.

Laurie, the granddaughter of Bud Walton, a co-founder of Wal-Mart, has returned her degree, nearly a year after Elena Martinez told ABC's 20/20 that she had written term papers and done assignments for Laurie for 3 1/2 years.

"Paige Laurie voluntarily has surrendered her degree and returned her diploma to the university. She is not a graduate of USC," the school said in a statement dated Sept. 30.

Somebody else could have been going to school in her place.

Selfish beeotch.

I just finished listening to the soundtrack for the movie "It's All Gone Pete Tong". It's a two disc set, divided in to the components of Day and Night. The Day disc is comprised of the quieter, ambient, soundtrack-y pieces of music. The Night disc consists of all of the dance tracks -- seamlessly blended into one long dance mix of about an hour and fifteen minutes. When I heard this work, I said to myself "There's my exercise music!"

If you get a chance to pick up the soundtrack to this film -- do it.

I might have one of two days picked out to do my tattoo, provided the artist I want is working then.

I'm thinking of November 4th or 5th, because the 5th is when Guy Fawkes Day is observed over in the UK, and the 4th is also sometimes observed as Guy Fawkes Night.

Anybody remember the name of the Phoenix in the Harry Potter series?... :-)

---

Speaking of the tattoo, I went surfing last night with the phrase 'Phoenix Logo' to see if I could find anything else remotely resembling my design, and found this logo:

I weep for our future.

---

Absolutely nothing got accomplished yesterday by me, except that I dyed John's face fuzz. He's begun growing the goatee and soul patch for our Halloween costumes next Saturday, and so I died his beard hair. I also did his sideburns since he was sitting there anyway, and it's taken like, ten years off of his appearance.

Goddess knows I'm the one that put the age ON his appearance in the first place, so it's the least I could do.

---

Okay. Have a good day.
