All The Luck

Friday, Aug. 18, 2006 - 12:00 a.m.

The news I was going to post has indeed materialized.

In fact, Dave beat me to it.

A short time ago, Dave's roommate Charlie met this lovely girl named Ai Vy. (pronounced like the plant.) They hit it off instantly, as if they had been reunited after several lifetimes apart. She is beautiful and smart and Charlie keeps her on her toes because he's almost a foot and a half taller than she is.

Yesterday, a dizzying six weeks after they met, they eloped to Las Vegas.

I got the text message announcement shortly after 11:30 Thursday night.

Forgive me, dear readers, as I'm going to break a CARDINAL RULE of blogging now, and post some lyrics.

But somehow The Eagles found the words before I did, and have done it much better.

NO MORE CLOUDY DAYS
By The Eagles

Sitting by a foggy window, staring at the pouring rain.
Falling down like lonely teardrops, memories of love in vain.
These cloudy days, make you wanna cry,
it breaks your heart when someone leaves
And you dont know why.

I can see that youve been hurting
Maybe Ive been lonely too.
Ive been out here lost and searching
Looking for a girl like you.
Now I believe the sun is gonna shine,
dont you be afraid to love again, put your hand in mine.

Baby, I would never make you cry, I would never make you blue.
I would never let you down, I would never be untrue.
I know a place we can go where true love always stay,
theres no more stormy nights, no more cloudy days.

I believe in second chances, I believe in angels, too.
I believe in new romances, baby, I believe in you.
These cloudy days are coming to an end
and you dont have to be afraid to fall in love again.

Baby, I would never make you cry, I would never make you blue.
I would never let you down, I would never be untrue.
I know a place we can go where true love always stay,
theres no more stormy nights, no more cloudy days.

My love and congratulations to them both, and of course, all the luck in the world. :-)

Nothing else more important than this to post, so it's short.

Have a great Friday!
