Batteries Not Included Monday, Nov. 13, 2006 - 4:10 a.m. On Sunday night, there was an excellent special on The Food Network; an episode of Iron Chef America entitled 'Battle Cranberry' featuring Giadia De Laurentiis versus Rachael Ray. I frequently come away hungry or inspired or both when I watch the Food Network, and I have often re-named it The Eating Channel. It was a fun episode and I hope there will be a rebroadcast. --- I can't find the refurbished Star Trek TOS anymore in the San Francisco Bay Area in its usual spot, Sunday, midnight on channel 44, so I got on Yahoo Messenger with Old Buddy Dave to have him tell me what the latest episode was, and what had been done to it. This week's syndicated ep was 'Mirror, Mirror'. Dave wrote "They've added more lights to the agony booth, and it's got a more annoying sound." I innocently took the bait. "What have they done?" His response: "They're looping 'It's A Small World After All' " And for a few horrifying seconds, I believed him. --- I was looking up the word ULTRAMAN on eBay a couple of evenings ago. I was a big fan of the original series from the sixties, and I was the only cool girl in second grade because I could draw Ultraman -- and I keep hearing tell of a really good set of DVDs containing all of the episodes. There was a considerable amount of merch to sift through. Here was the most intriguing Ultraman device: Oh yeah, baby. I got your Beta Capsule right here. --- That's more than enough. Have a good Monday, if there is such a thing. ---
