Info Of All Fonts

Friday, May. 09, 2008 - 1:07 a.m.

I took a long slobbery nap yesterday afternoon between two and six, hoping to cause the UPS service to buzz.

It didn't happen. Oh, well.

I'm finally back up and running with an edition of Microsoft Word. After my crash a year ago right about now, I had a problem with my reinstallation of MS Word because I couldn't find my product key numbers again to save my life.

They finally turned up, in the last place I was intending to have looked for them, and it's all working.

Thunderation, that was annoying, to have done without a word processing program for an entire blabba fraggin year.

---

I'm also glad to be seeing some of my favorite fonts again. I missed Palatino very much, and gods help us all, I even missed Cooper Black.

And I'm also gonna buy a Visual QuickStart book this time and really learn how to use this program.

Mind you, I've been a hardcore PageMaker fan for twenty years now. And I liked it because it always responded so beautifully to my 'What's THIS button do?' style of meddling on the Mac.

But I think I can transition to something that's actually going to be useful here in the twenty-first century.

Microsoft Word seems completely non-intuitive to me, but then again, so was iTunes at first.

Speaking of iTunes, we sure had fun developing John's playlist last night. He's got everything on it from Monkees to Marc Bolan.

Having imported the latter and placed it onto his Shuffle, I did warn John to avoid walking too close to any Sycamore trees.

Yes, that was terrible. So quit visiting my site again and again already. :-P

And I also figured out a way to calmly overcome any distress that may come from any disagreements he and I ever have.

I'll secretly Rickroll the Shuffle.

Well, okay, not so secretly now that I've actually mentioned it in print here, but it still could happen. heh.

This week's Livejournal Friday Five isn't up yet, so I'm scoring an old entry from the original site and reposting it here.

My answers will be different this time around, so deal. :)

Explain why you started to journal/blog.

I began blogging as a form of recovery from abuse. As I overcame the original problems I'd been writing about, this Diary evolved along with its writer.

Do people you interact with day to day or family members know about your journal/blog? Why or why not?

I've never kept this Diary a secret. Anybody who comes here and reads something about themselves they don't like has asked for it, and unless there's a liability associated with my mention of any problem people I might need to write about? It stays posted.

Do you have a theme for your journal/blog?

Nope. I pride myself on having the same pleasant look and feel for five years now.

What direction would you like to have your journal/blog go in over the next year?

SS, DD. Unless of course I decide otherwise. :-P

Pimp five of your favorite journals/blogs.

Have a look at the column to the left, and look at my buddy list to see what my reads are.

Links are to the left, blah blah.

Have a good Friday!
