Blue Sky

Wednesday, May. 14, 2008 - 12:10 a.m.

The new computer is due to arrive here today or tomorrow. I can hardly wait to meet it!

And I will really have fun showing John how to use iTunes and how to switch on AirPort and tell our computers to talk to one another.

---

Check out this listing of a vintage musical teddy bear, and have a look at how the song it plays is listed.

I fear for the future sometimes, I really do.

---

I have too vivid an imagination for myself sometimes.

One of my regular onliners whom I shall call Mister Blue Sky, vaporized for two days after saying 'See ya Monday' and by the time he'd reappeared, I'd managed to predict everything from a migraine to emergency surgery to getting lost in the woods with his son's Scout troop as an explanation for Blue's absence.

Turns out, he was just fine, had simply been away from keyboard at a last minute job, and that everybody else in western civilization knew this about Mister Blue Sky but me.

So, go me. I had a real good time inside my head yesterday.

But all is well.

---

It kind of got me thinking though, about notifications when things in one's life do change.

Who would you want told if you died? What about if you were sick?

---

Anyway, bleah. I'm tired. I missed a night of sleep.

So, guess what? I'm done.

Have a good Wednesday.

You suppose it was "Frere Jacque"? That would be my guess.... I had one almost exactly like it, I can't believe the guy wants $20 for it!

What puzzles me about 'Har A Jaukqa' is that children learn the lyrics in French or English (or, at least, they used to) as well as the tune. Very strange.

Guess this guy went to a school where "Frere Jacque" wasn't sung, in English OR French. It points out a big hole in our cultural continuity, but then I understand the main reason "Barny" the dinosaur was popular was because the show was the only place where the old British-based nursery rhymes were still being taught to kids.
