Draw Pile
Tuesday, May. 27, 2008 - 9:26 a.m.
I don't know if your family is like mine, but what we generally do is have a 'draw pile' of medications, prescription and non. We have Allegra, and there's a couple of tablets of coedine and I think there's a valium somewhere, etc. You get the idea.
On Sunday night, I took something from the draw pile that I shouldn't oughta.
I don't recall most of what happened in the next day or so.
Today, my marbles are mostly back in their holes, but I am starting to peel.
I'm sorry this isn't a long post, but I wanted to check in with you and let you know why you haven't seen me online.

Eeeks! That isn't a good thing! Yeah, I have a draw pile too, but it's all stuff that I usually take, so I'm not likely to get something that will make me turn purple or break out in spots. It may constipate me for days, or give me the grizzly shits, but otherwise no problems! *lol* --- Andy - 2008-05-27 14:13:47
This is a little bit eerie, because almost the exact same thing just happened to me. In my case, it wasn't out of a family or personal draw pile, but I was prescibed some ativan at the hospital, and as I took it I began to experience memory loss. I hadn't taken any such medication in some time. I've since seen a number of emails that I don't remember having sent, and other more embarrassing things occured during the grey-out. I've been told that a certain class of drug -- benzodiazepines such as valium, xanax, and ativan -- can cause memory loss in some people. It's probably best I avoid them in the future, even though they calm me down, and people tend to find me more pleasant when I take them. --- art - 2008-05-27 15:09:33
yeee!!! careful with that!! --- bluesleepy - 2008-05-27 19:55:12
ACK!! Scary stuff there, Brin. We so rarely get prescribed anything that we don't have a draw pile. I think I had percoset or something after I gave birth, but I think I got rid of that as soon as I was out of pain. --- Jamie - 2008-05-27 22:56:58
I took a Vistaril (a sister drug to Benadryl -- but more potent and used as an anxiolytic/sleeping pill) last night, and it's noticeably still affecting me. I feel like some slipped me a Rohypnol. Yuck. ---
