Music Stuff

Saturday, Jun. 28, 2008 - 7:41 a.m.

Friday was Proverb Interesting as far as the band went.

Bob Chance was too dizzy and sick to sit on a stool as a result of an inner ear infection, so instead, Dave Kern called Tracy Sands, who has sat in with the band on and off for the last decade and a half.

The band got to do a number of songs for the first time in awhile, because Tracy has a different repertoire than the band, and Kern and Dave were willing to try pretty much most of whatever Tracy suggested.

When Dave first got to the venue, it was discovered that the stage lights weren't working from the wall outlet, so a cord patch was quickly gerrymandered that eventually worked almost kind of sort of properly.

Kern made the mistake of coming up to me and saying "So, how ARE ya?"

And I said "I'm on the rag, and I want to kill something."

He er ummed around and luckily for me, decided I said something funny.

Otherwise, how am I?

I am a dip.

I was going to take lots of pictures of the band and so forth to share with Bob, and then I discovered that the date thing in my camera was broken, and the month setting would only go up to the number 12.

As it turned out, I had dithered around and gotten the 'day' setting confused with the 'month' setting, and didn't figure out the actual problem until about an hour before I made this post.

It was a good crowd, and once again, the owner was uber frugal with the air conditioning. Yick.

In slightly more worldy music news, if you're reading this before noon pacific time, have a high speed connection, and you have an up to date version of QuickTime, you can see Bjork and Sigur Ros in concert in Iceland, courtesy of The National Geographic Channel.

Not a lot else to report; have a nice Saturday.
