Yorba Linda Fire Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008 - 12:29 a.m. Yesterday I was paying rapt attention to any of the streaming media sources I could find from Southern California after Old Buddy Dave sent me a picture from his telephone:
He was leaning out the front door of Camelot Golfland, at around noon. This was the smoke from the Yorba Linda fire. OBDave lives about half a dozen miles from this fire, over near Disneyland, so this isn't something that has affected him terribly, other than some slight respiratory issues and the ash coming in through his screen windows. He's fine and so is his kitteh. But to see a wall of smoke that is so high and not know where it's coming from or where it's heading? Not something you want to see on a regular basis. And before I go, let me just state for the record that, should Hell exist, I hope there is a special place for all of those looky-loo jerks who interfered with the firefighting activities over the last couple of days. --- Nothing else I could write would top this. If you are near the fires, stay safe. And of course, try and have a good Sunday. ---
