The Englishman's Boy Sunday, May. 17, 2009 - 12:03 a.m. Last night, John and I finally began watching The Englishman's Boy. It's a mini-series from Canada featuring Nicholas Campbell, who starred in Da Vinci's Inquest. So far, it's really good. And Bob Hoskins is in it, too. --- This is Sunday, the day I was supposed to attend band practice. But three things have coalesced to make me call Alan and cancel yesterday. First and foremost -- Bay To Breakers. I hate it with a passion for what it does to the city. Second -- It's going to be hot. Not just hot, but one of the hottest days of the year thus far. Third -- Highway 37, aka the way home after practice, will be closed at night for repairs for the next month or so. So, there you have it. If any one of those three things hadn't converged upon the other two, I would probably have made it to practice. Just too many worrisome things, from my perspective. --- However, this gives me time to practice the bass. All is not lost. I wish I could have gone, though. --- I haven't taken pictures of the bass yet, but I will. Stay tuned. All right, there. Have a good Sunday. ---
