Band Stuff & Friday 5

Saturday, Jun. 06, 2009 - 12:35 a.m.

First, a Friday Five:

What do you feel is the most important quality in a close friend?

Close friends will always do one of two things: 1. Arrange bail, or 2. Be right there in the cell with you holding your head while you puke into the cell toilet. Actually, more seriously, my current roster of close friends includes two people who have taken the trouble to re-establish contact with me after twenty years and make sure I remember where I've been so I can better understand where I'm still going. I'd say close friends are the ones who know who you really are and make sure you don't forget.

What is the one quality in a stranger you'd just met that would make you want to get to know them better?

If they say something obscure but witty. "It's a pity I never kept a diary. One should always have something sensational to read on a train."

What do you think is the most important quality in a good leader?

To listen to others, but to be unafraid to stick to a final decision once its made.

What is the one thing that makes a child likable to you?

If it obeys grownups and utilizes the Magic Words please and thank you.

What do you think is the one thing that makes a good parent (other than loving their children)?

Patience when mistakes are made.

Link is to the left, etc.

Next: Got a significant nibble from the Craigslist ad.

Sounds like somebody we can identify with; another dad with kids who is taking his axe out of mothballs after a couple of decades.

This will hopefully be fun, if the playlist doesn't frighten him off.

---

Later today, I'll see my 7th grade music teacher for the first time since 1977, at her retirement party.

I hope this is a good day.

---

That's it. Have a good Saturday!

This is going to be a Good Day all around! Mr. Sun will play a prominent role in todays proceedings, not just a cameo appearance as has happened in recent weeks!! Happy Saturday to you!!
