Reality & Bass Tuesday, Jun. 23, 2009 - 12:02 a.m. I'd been hearing the names and the speculation associated with the names, so I went ahead and Googled around and found out what I could about J0n & K@te. Here's what I discovered. I watched parts of a few episodes from the first season of their reality show. Everybody looked happy, but I kept thinking K@te seemed like she had a big ole stick up her butt. Then I saw some recent footage, and I just don't know. J0n looks like he's lost his will to live or something. K@te just looks so ungrateful for those babies. And now, apparently, they filed for divorce. Excellent. I am sure the eight kids will be grateful for all of this footage that will be available to help them through therapy in about a decade. And obviously she hasn't listened when people have tried to tell her that her haircut is terrible. So, not gonna pay any more attention to the story. Stubborn and mean people make me puke. --- On a lighter note, though -- my bass playing is going very well. The next time I head down to Anaheim, I've asked the former bassist of the Bob Chance Band, Dave Kern, if I could borrow a bass from him to practice on while I'm down there. Old Buddy Dave did the legwork for me on this, and has received a resounding YES as a reply, so HOORAY, I don't have to worry about transporting my own instrument down to Duke and back! Kern even has a short-scale one that I can use. I really appreciate that, Dave, and Dave. :) You guys are wonderful to have arranged that for me. Meanwhile, the last practice with the band before I head down to Anaheim is on Sunday the 28th. I'll practice my bass playing before Mike T. Bassist gets there, so as not to step on any toes. I mean I know Mike could not possibly mistake my lame attempts at playing for a coup, but I still want to be polite about keeping my practice more or less separate from the work the band has to do to produce a product. All seems well! --- That's it! Have a good Monday. ---
