Knock on Formica -- if all goes well, later today, I'll be borrowing a guitar from the boss.

For the next two weeks, I'll be seeing if I am remotely qualified to play lead.

It will be fun to at least try, even if the effort is a disaster.

Last night, we had pasta and sourdough garlic bread for dinner.

And we watched one of the movies in the excellent BBC adaptation of the stories of Horatio Hornblower.

I swear, you guys, Ioan Gruffud should be the next James Bond.

Don't get me wrong, the current guy is really good, but I'm rooting for Ioan.

Congratulations to both teams who got to the championship game of the Little League World Series.

Chinese Taipei versus California -- with the USA team winning 6-3.

It was an honor to see the coverage of these players in an excellent series and wonderful final game.

Not much else to write about. It was a quiet and pleasant day here.
