Or Not To Bang

Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009 - 12:15 a.m.

I haven't gotten a haircut since I was in Anaheim for my birthday in April.

So I'm really sort of due for one. But I am never happy with the cut I get, and I'm still trying to grow out my bangs.

The one thing I haven't bothered doing is asking the people who have to look at it all the time how it looks, and which they prefer. Bangs? No bangs?

So I accosted John last night.

Me: Honey, do you like me WITH bangs or WITHOUT bangs?

John: Whatever you want is fine with me.

Me: I was asking what YOUR preference is.

John: As long as you are happy with the way you style your hair, I'm happy.

Me: That's not an answer.

John: What do you mean? I told you what I think.

Me: No, you deflected it and said it was up to ME. What I am asking is what YOU want me to do.

John: (exasperated) If you want to keep growing your bangs out, fine, but what I'm sick of is when you have bangs, but you don't get them taken care of professionally then you grab the scissors and you screw with them and screw with them and screw with them and they you fuck them all up and whine about it for the next six months. THAT is what I'm tired of!

Me: Oh. Shit. You're right.

For now, I'm going to keep letting them grow. They are about a half an inch away from being able to be tucked behind my ears.

In other news, I have dropped or spilled my food and drink for two nights in a row. Wednesday night was most of a cup of Diet Coke into the new box of tissues, which then swelled up to a rippling rectangle approximately the size of a barbecue pit.

For the rest of the week, I think I'll wear paper clothes and sleep in the bathtub.

---

That's it. Have a good Thursday.

You deserve to have your hair cut professionally. Go for the goth rocker look, IMHO.

Keep the bangs, grow all of your hair to one [long] length, and go fire engine-red! :) I think it would look STUNNING! :) Just my $.02.
