Brin, can you explain about the ostomy bag, what it looks like, and how it affects or doesn't affect your daily life?
---
Brin
Sure. Back in 1983, my colon was bleeding so badly that it had to be removed. A new exit was created on the side of my abdomen, about four inches to the right of my belly button. That's called an ostomy, and I wear a bag over the hole to catch what comes out. It's a peel and stick kind, like a bandage, and unless I mention it in public like this, it's so small and low-profile that nobody knows I wear one. If I hadn't had the operation, I would have died back when I was seventeen, so considering the alternative, I have no regrets.

They'll apologize as soon as the right goes "Oops, my bad." regarding Terri Schiavo.

Brin
Sadly, you're correct. The problem is that the media offers too many opportunities for people to have their fifteen minutes in the spotlight, and apparently those chunks of time are extremely addictive. :-(

I actually looked up Ostomy and read all about it a while ago. Thank goodness you have it and you are here today. We adore you!

Ah, Terri Schiavo -- I can never stop of ways to revise my imaginary Last Will and Testament without thinking of what happened to her.
