Strange Days & Ray Fong

Monday, Apr. 10, 2006 - 6:00 a.m.

Such a strange spate of days. My sleep is bifurcated and it seems like no matter when I wake up, I'm sleepy.

I guess the main reason for that is that I have ignored my sensible eating parameters for a while now. If I return to strict Atkins, I know I'll feel better.

Please let me not have another induction migrane.

---

The other thing that has weirded me out is that I've had only about five days of full and unimpeded sunshine in the last thirty. Something to do with melatonin production and vitamin D and chemical alteration due to lack of sunshine, and blah blah blah. I'll be glad when the rain is over with.

---

So, today and this week, there's going to be more demonstrations here in California regarding the increased criminalization of illegal immigration to the USA.

Dear demonstrators, I realize you have a right to demonstrate. That's not even an issue.

But if you do engage in this activity, I do have some advice: If you like it here and are fond of the rights and priveleges and opportunites that you have here in the USA -- while you're out on the streets skipping school and taking a sick day from work and making it difficult for the rest of us who are trying to get our own shit done today -- could you kindly have the courtesy to refrain from waving the flag from your country of origin and wave ours instead? That would sort of make your stance a little more believable, thanks.

And if you're out on the street in the middle of traffic -- keep your hands off of John's new car.

Trust me, you don't want to make him upset while he's behind the wheel.

Thank you.

And before you stamp your foot and accuse me of being racist, I suggest you save that energy for the imbeciles at Adidas who let the Ray Fong sneaker get all the way from the sketchpad to production.

---

I think I'm done here. Have a good Monday!
