Dreams & Canada Day Saturday, Jul. 01, 2006 - 1:02 p.m. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think perhaps I'm finally starting to get a little used to the heat. Either that, or maybe all the common sense has been baked out of my brain. --- Last night at the bar, at the very end of the business day, when, thankfully, most of the patrons had gone and were therefore spared, I did something I haven't done in twenty-four years. I sang in public. No, I didn't have a skinfull, and no, I didn't ask to do this last night. BUT. Last fall when we went down for the Halloween event, I did ask Bob if he knew the song 'Dreams' by Fleetwood Mac. As it turns out, he did know it. But then along came Last Call, which meant the musicians were allowed to do one more song and then wind it up, and that was that. Or so I thought. As it turns out, Bob didn't forget that I'd asked. I gotta tell you, this band. OH. This band. They can make ANYONE sound good. I have been told to come back and do it again tonight. Thank God it's poor form for people to take money back out of the tip jar. :-) --- I took a bunch of pictures, and will show you some when I return to San Francisco. In the meantime, enjoy your weekend, and Happy Canada Day to the appropriate people in my readership. Take care! --- One more thing: According to my stats reports, I had three readers on June 31st, 2006. So, whoever you are, thank you very much for acheiving time travel just so you could read my diary. ---
