September First Already

Friday, Sept. 01, 2006 - 5:01 a.m.

Apparently, MTV broadcast a program called the Video Music Awards.

No kidding? WHY???? WHAT videos??? MTV still shows VIDEOS??? Where the hell ARE they???

So get this. There's some sort of firewall now between here and 4BC in Brisbane.

Ian Maurice's email now bounces and can't get through to me.

I'm not able to find where the problem is; I have a sneaking feeling this is AOL's fault.

I gave him some work-arounds, which I hope will work.

Well, starting today, the west-to-east section of the Bay Bridge will be closed all weekend so they can knock down a hunk and replace it.

The northbound direction of the Golden Gate Bridge is free, so anybody who drives into the city will be able to get out again fer nuthin.

Old Buddy Dave and I sat up and watched a fun television show late last night; sort of a blooper show devoted solely to the game show genre and hosted by Ben Stein.

There were a lot of 'Brain Freeze' moments, especially among the betwittered contestants who were on Family Feud -- but I'm having one myself, as I can recall none of them.

What! It's the first of September? Good grief!... Already?

Here's this week's Friday Five:

This is the 1st of September, what do you want to accomplish by the 31st?

I'd like to figure out who decided to add that extra day to this month. That's a neat trick. Seriously, I will have cut John's hair at least once. I have to mail my APA contribution in to the OE; I think I will get to see Cheri, I'll get to go to an Angels game with Old Buddy Dave, and I'll be going ahead with a limited press run of my CD. (Yeah, kids, it's done!)

What does September make you think about or feel?

Beginnings and endings; school; leaves; the smell of crayons, and warmer clothing.

September is the ninth month; can you name nine memories so far from this year?

You know what? No I can't. You guys are welcome to look at my diary and pick some stuff out.

What does September have in common with three other months and can you name them?

Thirty days hath September; April, June, and November.

The first weekend in September signals the end of summer for many even though it doesnt really end for weeks. When does summer end for you?

When the electric blanket goes back on the bed.

Okay, the link is to the left, kids.

---

There ya go, have a good Friday, and if you observe it, a lovely holiday weekend.
