Second Post Today / Dear Germy

Wednesday, Sept. 06, 2006 - 7:45 a.m.

Oh lookie here. The second post of the day already.

---

Germaine Greer, who is without a doubt in my mind the most self-loathing cunt on the face of the planet, had a few things to say about Steve Irwin.

So I'm writing her a letter.

Dear Germaine,

Fuck you.

I've been familiar with your work every since I was in junior high school, thanks to a deranged militant feminist PE teacher who decided it was okay to spew your venom and unethical filth at an eleven-year-old girl, and I have consistently observed that your sanctimonious man-hating bullshit has only served as an excuse to hurt people, solely based on their gender.

But now in that article, you've graduated to hurting widows and children, and I'm sorry. I can't have that.

You see, the Aussies that I personally know are not spineless cowards who hide behind the power of an editorial page. Unlike you, who is apparently too delicate of constitution to actually embrace your Australianism, they have managed to somehow reach deep inside themselves and have borne with stoicism and genuine appreciation the low-grade and not at all harmful or bothersome cultural cringe that sometimes comes with being lumped in with a truly exuberant and life-loving man who spent a lot of time expressing love and passion about his work.

Exuberant. Passionate. Life-loving.

Oh, wait. I've just had an epiphany. No wonder you don't identify with the Steve Irwin phenomenon -- you've probably never actually had anybody apply those adjectives to you in your life. Poor old girl.

You infer in the article that it's wrong to take the misery of other living things and exploit them.

Well. That's funny coming from you of all people, since you've made a very good living from hating half of the earth's population.

How *did* that man stand being married to you for three whole weeks?...

Warmly,

Brin.

Ahh. I feel better now. Aside from you good folks, I know nobody of any importance will ever see this, but I don't give a damn. It just had to be done.

Have a good Wednesday. Tonight, the next episode of Project Runway!
