Beautiful Birthday Monday, Oct. 09, 2006 - 12:09 a.m. Today is October 9. For those few of you who read this who are over thirty-five years of age, here's a picture of a young man who has famous parents. At the time of his birth, he was the most famous child in the world. I was ten, and even I can remember when he was born. Today, he is thirty-one years of age. You have permission to feel old. Happy birthday, beautiful boy. --- Okay, I'm watching another one of those monkeyed-with episodes of original Star Trek. I finally figured out an analogy. You know how on Antiques Roadshow, the Keno twins keep telling you whatever you do with that extremely old furniture, don't try and refinish it or you'll devalue it by ninety percent? Yeah. It's like that. Or like somebody wearing a wristwatch at RenFaire. I mean yeah, they're cleaned up and prettier. But... just... it's not the same. I miss my matte lines. --- All right, enough of that. Have a good Monday, and if you are on holiday today, happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian readership and happy Columbus Day to the USAns. ---
