The Tribbles I've Seen

Monday, Nov. 06, 2006 - 12:32 a.m.

Ted Haggard was dismissed from the New Life Church for what it called 'sexually immoral conduct.'

That's not the reason he should have been shitcanned, though. I think the only reason he should have been let go is for lying when his homosexual lover finally spoke up.

Otherwise, I don't see that he's guilty of wrongdoing, except in his decision regarding his expression of self hatred manifesting itself in the form of opposition against same-sex unions.

Believe it or not, I'm actually feeling sad over the fact that he called his bisexual feelings 'repulsive and dark' and stated that he's been 'warring against it [his] entire life.'

The fact that he has so much self hatred is, in my opinion, the ultimate sin against the Lord.

I was raised in such the way that any act of love or pleasure that didn't hurt anybody else was a form of worship and thanks. I was raised by parents who believed the Lord gave us a myriad of gifts: Kindness, courage, ethics, friendshp, and love. And I think that no matter how they manifest, if as many of those gifts are taken into consideration as possible, then one cannot go terribly astray.

From the Keane weekly email newsletter:

"The official site was down for a couple of days this week. Apologies for that.

Apparently there was a problem with the Server Decombaluation Interchange Facilitation Sprogget. Or something."

Well. Glad that's cleared up.

This week's recombooberated episode of Star Trek TOS was The Trouble With Tribbles.

There were a lot of nice new exterior shots of Deep Space Station K7, but these episodes are sliced to pieces and missing about five minutes of footage.

Grrrr.

I don't mean to say that these episodes should be hauling garbage ...

If this is happening where you live, then go vote tomorrow -- or make sure you keep your cakehole shut about all things political when you're speaking to me.

All right. Have a Monday.
