Zine & Art Friday, Nov. 17, 2006 - 12:06 a.m. John let me help him with his fanzine yesterday. Thursday afternoon, I headed out into the city, and the weather was just weird. It was warm, grey, and extremely humid, with a heavy mist. I stepped on to the bus, and I guess if I had ever crawled into a giant lung, I would have compared it to getting on that bus. We jounced along until I pulled the STOP REQUESTED string, and was expectorated. I walked over to John's office, and he emerged with a big plastic bag. It contained the signatures to his fanzine, which I would be taking home with me after lunch. We then turned around and walked to Orale Orale and had a huge lunch, which is basically all they offer -- and then John walked me over to my corner and I crossed the street and waited for the bus home. When I got home, I set up the signatures, and then for the next three hours, I collated, jogged, folded, burnished, and saddle-stitched. Forty issues with eight signatures for a total of thirty-two pages. Even in pieces, and even as I was putting it together, I *still* love this fanzine. --- I got permission from Joey Espinosa to title my CD Submit To Evolution, and to use the artwork of the same name by him. And on Turkey Day, I get to SEE Joey Espinosa and hand him a copy of the rendered cover for his approval. Not sure if there's a word in English to sum up my feelings about that. Overjoyed is too small a word. --- Anyway, that's about it. Have a good Friday, kids! ---
