Aspirin, Voting & Vibes

Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007 - 12:55 a.m.

I'm looking at the away message of my bleeding heart liberal acquaintence, and it says something along the lines of 'If you're proud to be an American right now, you're an idiot.'

Well, kid, the irony is, your statement is possible and tolerated and even encouraged BECAUSE you are an American.

I will always be proud and feel very lucky to be an American and to live in the United States.

However, with that said, I want to state for the record that I think the actions of our elected officials -- almost none of whom I actually voted into office -- are frequently really stupid, and that there are currently a bunch of assholes in charge of things.

That's why I vote.

Don't call me an idiot. The people above us are idiots.

And I can honestly say that I didn't vote for a fucking one of them. :-)

---

Wow. My face!

I did the Aspirin Mask a few minutes ago.

Go to the grocery store and buy the generic uncoated ultra cheap aspirin. put two or three in a small cup and add water until they go to paste.

Smear the paste on your face, avoiding your eyes. Let it dry.

Then scrubt it back off with a damp washcloth.

I *love* this.

And the reason the asprin mask seems to have a beneficial effect is because salycilic acid is the main component of both aspirin and most of the over-the-counter acne remedies. So, if you are sensitive to that kind of product, skip this. Otherwise, this is a really nice treatment.

---

Send some good vibes to Old Buddy Dave yet again, please.

Nothing's actually the matter this time, fortunately. He just could use the extra good feelings.

---

Okay, that's it. Have a nice Wednesday!
