First Thud of 2007 Thursday, Feb. 01, 2007 - 12:33 a.m. Just a quick note to let you know that I arrived in Anaheim safe and sound. The journey was pretty because I flew at night; I love doing that. The guy standing behind me in line had been in the Bay Area for a sales presentation and was heading home. "Oh, you flew up here for a chinwag, did you?" He'd never heard the term. I explained that my grandmother was from east Texas and that's what she called a meeting. "East Texas?" he asked. "Where is that, exactly?" And I looked at him and squinted my eyes and said "Well, I'll give you a hint. It's not north or south or west." Then -- this is absolutely true -- he wanted to know where Texarkana was located. He wasn't a total goob, though. He'd boarded the plane right behind me, and when I hoisted my bag to the overhead bin, he took over and made sure it was properly placed. --- Anyway, I'm here now, and about to crash for the night and get up later this morning and go to the House Of Mouse. John has asked for details about the Pirates refurb, so I'll definitely do my best to provide them. There ya go. Have a Thursday! And for those who observe it, happy Imbolc! ---
