Mousing Around

Monday, Apr. 02, 2007 - 1:46 a.m.

April Fool's Day was surprisingly low-key here.

I had life-saving surgery on April 1, 1983, and was thinking about what I would have missed in the last 24 years.

All of y'all would have been SOL, that's for sure. :-)

Anyway, I only did one weensy tiny thing to John, because he HATES April Fool jokes, but I couldn't resist.

I told him I'd played an April Fool joke on him, and tthat he would see his joke if he turned on his computer.

So he did.

When the mouse didn't respond to his ministrations, he pushed the OhShit button on the computer, and while things were re-booting, I said "What happened?"

He furrowed his brow and he said "The computer froze." And I said "Oh?" and he nodded.

Then I couldn't stand it anymore, and said "Is anything wrong with the mouse?"

He turned it over -- and looked and saw a little yellow post-it note with a smiley face and the words 'April Fool'. John has an optical mouse, and it was just a simple way to obstruct the light to keep the mouse from functioning.

And praise Insert Deity Of Choice Here If Applicable -- he laughed. A lot.

So, that was pretty much it.

If any of you got April Fool'ed, I'd love to hear about it.

Have a good Monday!
