Memorial Day 2007 Monday, May. 28, 2007 - 1:16 a.m. This entry is dedicated to my father, who was a Marine. Thank you for showing me how to clean a rifle when I was nine. Nobody else I knew at the time could do that. You SO rocked. This entry is also dedicated to my friend Emily, who is over in Iraq for her second tour of duty, and whom you all know as Bluemeany. Thank you very much for answering the call of duty. Thank you to Bob Chance, who made me feel like I was sitting next to my father once again when he began telling his own stories from the Marines. This is also dedicated to Uncle David, who made me sit and watch 'Turnabout Intruder' with him the night before he shipped out to VietNam. Thank you for coming home so I could forgive you for making me do that. Thank you also, to my father-in-law, Joe Espinosa, who was a firefighter for many years, after he completed his military service. Public servants are not always remembered today, and I think that should change. Love you, dad. Thank you all for your service, then and now. I love all of you very much -- and you've all honored me by what you've done for this country. ---
