Holiday & Power Chord

Tuesday, May. 29, 2007 - 12:55 a.m.

Had some fun at the keyboard last night, meaning the Yamaha keyboard over here that actually plays music; John had been working on his fanzine and suddently jumped up and asked me what I knew about the extremely famous opening chord of 'A Hard Day's Night' -- and so I went surfing and discovered that it was in fact a legendary chord that is probably the most well known (as well as among the first) 'Power Chords' in the history of rock music.

D F A C G are the simultaneous notes that were struck; the D by Paul on bass, and the FACG by the Georges -- Mr. Martin was on the piano, and Mr. Harrison on a twelve string Rickenbacker.

I think the only other five notes of music I have ever paid this much attention to were the ones from Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Anyway, 'twas fun and edge muh kay shuh null.

A couple of days ago, we surrendered to the extremely cold fog out in our neighborhood and put the electric blanket back on the bed.

Which means of course, yesterday afternoon, it warmed up a huge heck of a lot.

Sympathetic Magick at its finest.

---

Yesterday was peaceful and good.

John got back in touch with one of his best old friends, who has been away from his own life for awhile.

Details are not forthcoming yet, but John and Randall seem to have had a very good visit.

---

The husband is also back to work today after the long weekend. We think he's pretty relaxed.

And if I'm not mistaken, a certain Fender guitar has made its way to the Bay Area by now.

---

Okay. So, in addition to suffering through that nasty batch of peanut brittle and finally cleaning out that weird place next to my recliner, I also did some more cleaning.

I've purged about ten percent of the content and images from this Diary.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to noodle around here and see if anything feels as if it's missing.

I have complete copies of all of my pictures, and all of my text, so if there's a restoration issue anywhere that you feel I need to address, I will have the resources.

Otherwise, I'm thinking here that I've done an adequate job of jettisoning some badly out-of-date supercargo.

Let me know.

---

All rightie. I hope you're all back safe and sound from your holiday weekend!
