Wrapped Up Like A Douche Saturday, Jun. 23, 2007 - 3:28 a.m. There's not a lot to say about an excellent bar band, especially when it's one as good as The Bob Chance Band. It's also something of an advantage to sit close enough to the stage to hear the asides. During one song, Old Buddy Dave was trying to achieve that middle-eastern aqhhha sound, that throat clearing thing that belongs between a Q and an A. Bob Chance said it sounded like he was coughing up a hairball. With his mike off, OBDave then mumbled something about how it was much better than coughing a hairball out of the other end. The band and about five of us down in the audience heard it. --- One of the songs they performed was the Steve Miller Band song called Jet Airliner. On the way back to the apartment, I turned to Dave and thanked him for singing the song about the lion. And of course he was tired and he took the bait. "Song about a Lion?" And I said "Yes. Big Ol' Jed Had A Lion!" He laughed, and said there was at least one additional Mondegreen for that song: Ego Jan And The Rhino. --- That's really about it, kids. Have a lovely Saturday! ---
