Flames & North Stars Tuesday, Aug. 07, 2007 - 12:21 a.m. John was unexpectedly home from work yesterday, and having taken the weekday off, he went ahead and got some things accomplished, including a trip to the store. My habits for the day remained the same, including the long afternoon nap. I had nice dreams, but at the end, everything caught fire, and the loud crackling of the flames woke me up. When I got up, I saw John's street clothing folded and put on his side of the bed. He didn't open the closet, which was bright, and would have awakened me. Then I shambled out into the living room and told John about the strange dream that woke me up. He greeted me, and I said "I just had some weird dreams! Everything caught fire at the end! The crackling flames were LOUD!" John looked at me and said "Oh, shit." Then he confessed that he'd just been sitting on the edge of the bed, leaning over, and trying to peel the velcro away from his shoes, quietly, to keep me from waking up. Crackling flames and peeling velcro sound the same when somebody is having a dream, did you know that? But the upside is that I woke up in time to watch the Giants game. --- Mike Winderman told me about this: Did you know that US citizens could receive signals from Canadian Satellite services? Me, neither. If I weren't so hooked on the local feeds, this might be worth a look. --- Okay, that's about it. Have a good Tuesday. ---
