Denny's Hell & Devil Doll

Sunday, Sept. 02, 2007 - 1:53 a.m.

First, happy father's day to the dads in Australia!

---

Second, hooray, Cinema Insomnia was on tonight, despite earlier pledge drive programming on KTEH, and we were treated to "Devil Doll," from 1964. Surprisingly, it got three stars in the Leonard Maltin book.

The interstitials this time were extra good, and featured Mr. Lobo studying a book entited "Ventriloquism For Dummies".

Get it? Get it?... Um...

---

A little over a month ago, a teenage female gave birth to a baby in the bathroom of a Denny's in Anaheim, then placed it in the trash bin with some napkins over its face.

If that had happened at the Denny's at 210 South Euclid Street, that baby would have died of starvation and neglect, at the rate their bathrooms are serviced. Old Buddy Dave shares his Denny's horror story here.

---

Speaking of same... I Googled the phrase '"abandoned newborn" in Google News and I found about a half a dozen cases just in the last several weeks. Two in California, one in Michigan, one in Texas, etc.

I'm ready to suggest nationwide state-to-state uniform parameters for their various 'Moses laws.'

Anyone who abandons a newborn in a safe place (such as a hospital or firehouse, etc) will not be sought or prosecuted, will by the act of abandonment itself give up all rights to claim the baby, and will be giving consent that the newborn be placed into foster care for adoption by a family.

I'm just... tired of seeing this happen all over the country, over and over again.

Okay, and here's some doublethink akin to that fellow apologizing for being in the way of Dick Cheney's buckshot:

From the BBC --

Nineteen South Korean Christian aid workers freed by the Taleban after six weeks in captivity have apologised to the nation for the trouble they caused.

The former hostages, who had travelled to Afghanistan against government advice, said they owed their compatriots an enormous debt.

Yeah, yeah, that's nice. Boo hoo, most of you got back home, yadda yadda.

I just have one question.

Why in the name of all that is reasonable do Christians still insist on going to non-Christian countries after the UN and just about every travel company in the entirety of civilization tells them to STOP DOING THIS??

Seriously. If you go over to an obviously non-Christian country and do any kind of work there in the name of your Christian God? Sorry, but you're officially an idiot. Have your papers in order and be sure to wear t-shirts with the phrase "Jesus Wants Me To Be Worm Food."

---

That's it. Have a good Sunday.

And Dave? Drink your water.
