Pioneer Woman Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007 - 12:42 a.m. How come the Russians don't know about global warming? Shouldn't they be doing their part to help the earth recover from the evils of humanity? Oh, wait, they're under a bunch of ICE AND SNOW right now. I guess they'll get to it when they get to it. --- Elissa Wall is the name of the woman who, at age 14 was forced by Warren Jeffs to marry and have sex with her 19-year-old cousin. In Utah, a 14-year old can consent to sex, but only if enticed by somebody who is within three years of that age. Otherwise the age of consent is 16. Mind you , I personally have absolutely no judgement to give concerning what a bunch of consenting OF AGE adults want to do, or how they want to mix and mingle, paperworkwise. And I don't deny that by the age of fourteen, most teenage girls in the USA, under more normal circumstances, have accumulated the sum total of all human knowledge. God knows *I* sure did. And in fact, now that I think of it, ironically, I lost my virginity when I was fourteen. But this was a little too extreme. Elissa Wall did the right thing in cooperating with the authorities and allowing the charges to be brought. And I'm not ashamed to admit that I got stupid again as I aged. Didn't we all. --- Short post today. Can't find any memes that inspire me today. Have a good Wednesday! ---
