Dum Dums and Zombies

Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 - 2:50 a.m.

John came home last night, shell-shocked from work to an extra crispy degree, thanks in large part to the evening bus breaking down about a third of the way home, which forced the passengers off and back on to a different bus.

But luckily, a pleasant evening had arrived by mail.

Two things got here -- Shaun Of The Dead on DVD, and Dum Dums.

Dum Dums? Those little lollipops?

Yes.

A couple of days ago, an episode of Unwrapped on the Food Network was showing how Dum Dum pops were made and where the Mystery Flavor came from, etc... and while we watched that episode, I went to Amazon's food section, and incredibly, was able to purchase a box of Dum Dums.

They got here yesterday afternoon. We've been digging in the box ever since.

I found fifteen different flavors in there so far.

As for Shaun Of The Dead on DVD? Brilliant. We enjoyed the movie, but there's also a bunch of hilarious extras.

Dinner was good; I actually managed to cook some frozen pot-stickers well enough that they were indistinguishable from the ones we get from the takeout down the street.

Before he went to sleep, John said thanks for a wonderful evening.
