Grit

Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007 - 12:20 a.m.

The wind and haze have taken their toll, although it does pay to keep a sense of humor and perspective about it.

Here is a picture of what Old Buddy Dave's bathtub looked like on Monday morning, after the Great Santa Ana Dirt Bath which caused the cancellation of the golf part of the golf and food thing I went to on Sunday. The bathroom window had been left open less than one inch wide:

Dave said that when he got in to take his shower before work and destroy my lovely artwork there, he said "Eesh, even the SOAP was gritty..."

Glad he found that out instead of me.

----

The high winds which kept knocking his window fan out of the window have mercifully subsided for a while, but nothing is clearing that stench. That burning garbage leafy stench.

However, and this is weird, I'm totally surprised at the fact that my allergies are *not* as bad as I thought they should be. I expected to have endured numerous sneezing fits by now, but nothing like that has happened since my arrival, unless I've stepped directly in front of one of the fans and gotten a face-full of air.

Knock on Formica.

And if it's in Anaheim, a knuckle-print will remain behind.

---

John says it's hot up in San Francisco, too.

Hopefully with far less crispy foliage and less chewy air.

---

I guess that's it. Have a gritless Tuesday!
