He's 54, & Ho Hum Keynote Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008 - 12:19 a.m. Today, January 16th, is my husband John's birthday. He shares it with Dizzy Dean, Ethel Merman, Rene Angelil (who is Celine Dion's If all goes well, I'll be heading downtown to eat lunch with him today; I'll bring the camera. Happy birthday, sweetheart. See ya later! --- Brad Renfro has died at the age of 25. He was one of the two stars of the movie "Apt Pupil", the novellette from which it was derived being one of my favorite Stephen King works of all time. --- Apparently at least one new device was revealed during Steve Jobs' keynote speech. He'd walked out on stage with a standard 'interoffice memo' manila delivery envelope, you know the ones I'm talking about -- slightly padded, with a toggle on the front, and a myriad of lines on the front for the to/from. Blah blahdy blah we've made some exciting new changes to some of our software and some of our hardware blah blady blah... Then he reaches into the little envelope and pulls out -- a notebook computer. A notebook computer that is three quarters of an inch thick, and which does not have an optical drive. Oh, but you can get a plugin one for another hundred dollars. Um, yeah. --- All right, that's it. I feel pretty good today, by the way, for the first time in three weeks. Have a good Wednesday. ---
