Go Go Gadget Ripoff Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008 - 1:21 a.m. From Friday into Saturday, John and I saw one of the all time ass-kicking tennis games between Roger Federer and a fellow named Janko Tipsaravic. Tipsy won the 2001 Junior Australian Open, and now, here he was, several times at match point or set point, about to defeat Roger Federer, who had been the number 1 ranked player for around two hundred weeks in a row. But then Tips didn't return the last serve of the game, and Fed won by a hair. After four hours and twenty-seven minutes. --- Pearls Before Swine continues to be wonderful. They're right; Jimi Hendrix did not play the ukelele. I did, though. --- John and I voted absentee and our ballots are filled out and ready to be mailed. One of the local propositions here for the city and county of San Francisco is whether or not to allow Alcatraz to be sold to San Francisco by the government and made into something called a "Global Peace Center". HAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAH Oh PLEEEEZ!! Sometimes I'm so embarrassed to live here. We tried that sixty years ago and called it the United Nations, and the UN is now the single most corrupt institution in the entire world that isn't related to global warming propaganda. It didn't work then, and it's not going to work now. --- Did you know Herbie The Love Bug has a German knockoff called 'Superbug'?" It's horrible, and it was the feature presentation on Cinema Insomnia this week. The bug's name -- is Du du. And oh look, here's the hilariously wild and wacky movie poster to go with it. Phee Yew. --- One more thing -- Mark Evanier has mentioned the passing of a TV icon, complete with a beautiful picture. --- All right, there we go. Have a good Sunday. ---
