First Thud 2008

Friday, Jan. 25, 2008 - 12:38 a.m.

Hi, kids, I made it to Anaheim just fine.

The trip across the Bay Bridge to the airport was fascinating, because we could see different weather systems in different areas; all within view.

My flight left on time and wasn't completely full. It was amazing to look down and see snow on the hilltops where it didn't usually exist.

And when we were between layers of clouds, some of the clouds themselves were moving as fast as we were.

I've heard of Tag Clouds, but I've never actually seen Cloud Tag before.

---

Old Buddy Dave found me quickly, and after getting back to the apartment and checking in with John, I became reacquainted with Solange.

She remembers me, and has already stood on my keyboard twice in the space of the evening.

---

A little later, Dave very graciously took me around to a few stores, where I was searching for something to wear to a wedding.

No luck on arrival day, but after I've had some more sleep, Friday shopping will probably yield results.

---

When we came back to the apartment again, I crashed for about three hours, and then John and Dave and I all watched Celebrity Rehab on VH1.

There's a whole houseload of very glamorous car accidents who are sharing their processes with us.

I wish all of them well.

---

OH and speaking of same, -- yes, yes, yes, Amy Winehouse is finally going to rehab.

I hope it works.

---

I'm here, I'm unpacked enough, it's raining like mad down here, and John sent me a phone picture of two of our stuffed animals telling me goodnight.

All is well.

---

That's it -- Have a good Friday!
