Playlist Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 - 11:39 a.m. Yesterday night at Cero's was terrific as usual. I got to talk to the bride and groom who are getting married tomorrow. The band is playing at their wedding, and the groom has pulled a stunt that none of the band has ever seen before; he handed them an ordered playlist and a strictly scripted dedication list. As of this writing, no amount of persuasion, gentle or otherwise, has induced the groom to allow the band to at least select the playing order. I had a look at the list, and after seeing it, I predict that the groom is going to receive mixed reviews at best from the people who will be listening to the songs in that particular order. However, they're payin' for it, and all I can do is wish them well. --- The weather today has cleared somewhat; we have blue skies and moderate temps, and too many things to do, as usual. I'm looking forward to seeing the Queen Mary up close; if tomorrow's weather ends up as predicted -- heavy showers with a little monsooning thrown in for fun -- then I can't think of a safer place to be than on a great big boat! --- Not a long post today; Solange got the crazies at about four this morning, and I'm more than a little fuggheaded from absence of sleep. When I finally did drop off, I had crazy dreams about Siamese cats colliding with wedding cakes. --- Okay, that's it. Have a good Saturday. ---
