Google Groups is down again.

Surprise, surprise.

Well, it doesn't cost anything, and as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

I'm noticing this only happens on weekends; I sure wish there was more than one person at that organization who knew how to reset the Usenet feeds.

Amy Winehouse was given a well-deserved but still kind of not-nice runaround by the US embassy when she tried to obtain a visa so she could come to the USA and perform live at the Grammy awards.

However, since there was such a significant delay in the visa approval, alternative arrangements had been made before the approval came through.

Instead of appearing live in person, she'll appear live via satellite.

I suppose this is okay, and if memory serves me correct, satellite time ain't cheap.

My guess is that after the initial visa denial, her record company probably paid handsomely for some uplink time, so by golly garsh, she's gonna stay in the UK and get the image of her bad self bounced off of a hunk of metal and electronics in orbit above us.

I'm wondering exactly how much a five or six-minute 'bird squirt' costs these days...?

Am just now discovering the work of Nick Drake.

Like Kate Wolf, and Jimmie Spheeris, somebody who ascended to the next incarnation way before their time.

Eric Matthews has very obviously been influenced by him, so if you like EM, go pick up some Nick Drake.

Apparently Mr Drake was also a favorite of Heath Ledger.

May they be somewhere trading stories.

Okay. Have a good Saturday.
