Uno and Once Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008 - 12:52 a.m. Our last bottle of KWV is now gone, but now John has developed a taste for knowing what good brandy is supposed to taste like. So, we found something that turned out to be pretty good. Paul Masson Grand Amber Brandy. 750 ml for under ten dollars. As the saying goes, it's full of win. John likes its finish a little more that I do, but the fruit and honey scent and topnotes are really divine. I haven't tasted it after it's been warmed yet, but I'm looking forward to doing so. --- Good Lord. I just closed six browser windows. Whenever this computer boggs down, I stop and see if I have more than two windows open. This time I had six. I think that's a record. --- The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show was on over these last two days. The winner was a 15-inch Beagle with the callname of 'Uno'. Here's an article and a picture. A 15-inch Beagle has never won a Best In Show at the WKC before. --- The writer's strike is over. I've really enjoyed Days Of Our Lives, and the speed at which the storyline is progressing. I hope they find a way to keep some of the people who have introduced the faster pacing. --- Dear Democratic People's Republic Of Berkeley: I've decided I don't have to do business with you anymore. My father was a Marine, and one of my best childhood friends was a Marine, and two of my best adult friends were Marines. I'm ashamed of a city that will insist on it's own free speech, but suppress that same right when it comes to a branch of the military. --- Just a little while ago, I got to see Glenn Hansard and Marketa Irglova on the Tonight Show, performing the song "When Your Mind's Made Up" from the movie Once. One of these days I need to pick up the soundtrack and the movie. --- One more thing; Diaryland now has a CAPTCHA program installed in the comments section. It is not optional, and for some reason when there are apostrophes, there are also erroneous slashes next to them. So, when you leave a comment here, try and not use apostrophes. I'll know what you're trying to say. Personally, I wish Andrew would consider making it optional. --- Okay, there you go. Have a good Wednesday! ---
