Queens Galore Monday, Feb. 18, 2008 - 7:48 a.m. Today is President's Day here in the USA, and Family Day in some parts of Canada. If you have today off, yay! But if you're going to work, hopefully you'll have a slow day. --- Yesterday, when John and I finished rearranging the stuff on our video shelves, the following phrase entered the conversation: "Which do we want to watch? The Kill Bills, or Pride & Prejudice?" --- This was after we watched the Daytona 500; it was won by a fellow I'd never heard of before, Ryan Newman, who is no relation to Paul. And as always, the last three or four laps were the ones to watch. --- Lately there's been a trend in commercial advertising, both on tv and on the radio, to disguise that commercial as a 'breaking bulletin' newscast. Hate it. HATE it. It's getting my attention, but not in a good way. --- Oh for Christ's sake. Aretha, and Tina, and Beyonce and whoever the hell else wants to come up here, come to San Francisco. There's plenty of room here for ALL OF YOU to be queens! In fact, I'd bet money that many many of your drag doppelgangers will welcome you all with heavily-festooned arms! Just shaddap about it already! --- There. I'm already done. Have a good Monday. ---
