Lunar Eclipse 2008 Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008 - 1:22 a.m. The telephone rang at eight o clock yesterday morning, and about fifteen minutes later, John woke me up. The Landlord was calling to tell us he was stopping by with the young man I have come to call his Repair Nephew at around two in the afternoon to caulk around our bathtub and toilet. Repair Nephew wears a dark blue utility suit, has a militarily-short haircut, and the worst teeth I've ever seen in anybody that age. (early 20s, I think...) The downstairs neighbor's bathroom ceiling is falling in, incrementally. So I sat up until two in the afternoon waiting for the two of them to arrive, and nobody showed. At 2:30, I called John to see if he had Landlord's number and to call him and see what was up. Repair Nephew was being delayed at the other piece of work he had do do that day, and sorry sorry so sorry. I then relayed the following message to Landlord: I do home repair, I know how to caulk, and I'll go ahead and take care of it, and please cancel the visit today. Landlord was profusedly apologetic and grateful, and the job got done by Yours Truly. --- There's more rain scheduled for today, although there's also supposed to be a break tonight, so *maybe* there's a chance we might get a glimpse of the eclipse. That would be cool. West coasters are encouraged to look east at around half past seven tonight. --- Sorry not a long post. Have a good Wednesday! ---
