iPods, Bangs, & Once

Thursday, Apr. 10, 2008 - 12:37 a.m.

When my friend Dave went shopping and bought himself a 1-Gigabyte Silver iPod Shuffle, I was inspired to do the same, but in trying to save money by using eBay, I learned through expensive trial and error that there is some confusion as to how to tell the difference between the second generation Shuffle and the third generation Shuffle. The confusion inadvertently carried through to the sellers, but I decided against leaving negative feedback because everyone I dealt with was prompt and informative and kind.

Here's the things to look for:

Second Genration 1g Silver iPod Shuffle
Slightly elongated clear plastic box and the box has green text and icons.
Model number: MA564LL/A
System requirements: (Mac) iTunes 7.1.1 and system 10.3.9 AKA Panther.

Third Generation 1g Silver Ipod Shuffle
Shorter and wider plastic box, with grey text and icons.
Model number: MB226LL/A
System requirements: (Mac) iTunes 7.4 and system 10.4.8 AKA Tiger.

Okay so maybe I'm the only person on that didn't do her homework before shopping for one of these, but I did do it after and there you have it.

---

I've cut my bangs again. Not as drastically as before, nor as carelessly, but today I'll ask OBDave to toss me out at a salon somewhere so a stylist can check my homework and trim my split ends.

---

I showed the movie 'Once' to OBDave last night.

He thought it was slow-moving but pleasant, and he really enjoyed the soundtrack.

He's very good about sitting through the pointy-headed low-budget or never heardofit DVDs that I keep bringing, despite the fact that it's been hit or miss.

---

All right, there we go. Have a good Thursday!
