Green Recliner

Friday, Apr. 18, 2008 - 12:26 a.m.

I'm back in my green recliner again.

John is sitting here next to me, rendered utterly silent as he listens to his magickal new doohickey, an iPod Shuffle.

---

Here is the playlist I installed on my Shuffle for the flight back to San Francisco: (Song -- Artist)

In A Big Country -- Big Country
Canned Heat -- Jamiroquai
Awake The Giant -- Gowan
Agolo -- Angelique Kidjo
Im Nin'alu -- Ofra Haza
Major Tom -- Peter Schilling
Falling Slowly -- From "Once"
No One Is To Blame -- Howard Jones
Drift Away -- Dobie Grey
Freedom -- Erasure
Life In One Day -- Howard Jones
Ceremony -- New Order
Tenderness -- General Public

Now, mind you, I'm no deejay; I have no conception of what belongs in any given order.

I just wanted to have these particular songs rolling around in my head when I flew.

I think I probably had a reason for each of them, but as at the end of every journey, the details are already becoming a little soft around the edges.

But then again, maybe that's as it should be, because when that happens, I am compelled to make yet another trip.

---

Gee, it was sure nice to be away from San Francisco during all of the hoo hah earlier in the month -- and to find out that in some areas of the media, we're quite the laughing stock.

The rest of my eye-opening experiences were far less mortifying than tuning in to any ten minutes of LA talk radio.

Sigh.

---

I'm writing my entry during a rerun of the South Park episode where everybody loses their Internet and suffer from withdrawl symptoms.

There was a line in there about using the laptop and watching tv at the same time and not paying attention to either of them.

Or something.

---

Anyway, there. I'm back in San Francisco. As ever, my love and thanks to Old Buddy Dave who is always a tolerant and wonderful host.

Extra thanks to Scott Hysmith for making some space for a visit as well.

---

That's it! Have a nice Friday.
