Hot Day Tuesday, Jul. 08, 2008 - 12:43 a.m. Today is supposed to be the start of a heat wave across California that might result in a power outage, so please keep fingers crossed that San Francisco isn't involved if there is one. Speaking of The Ol Home Town... --- A local group of petitioners here in San Francisco wants to name a sewer plant after Dubya. And as you can see by the link, it's made international news. Great crusted stingrays. Most of the time I don't mind it here, but geez. --- Yesterday, I saw my first libretto, courtesy of Andy, AKA Minstrelite, who happened to have finished it at approximately the same time I was online as he was, so he attached the file and asked me to have a look. I won't mention characters or plot points without his say-so, and also not without giving it at least two more thorough read-throughs, (for some reason I'm counting my earlier thumb-through for typographical issues as a read-through, but that was just for misspellings as opposed to a genuine perusal for the story itself) but if this thing comes to full fruition on a stage, it's going to be one of the most interesting musicals that's been presented in a very long time. This is just my first impression; your mileage blahdy blah. But it was definitely interesting to see a libretto in what is essentially the basic final form, with all of the notations and lyrics and whatchicallies in place. Thanks again, Andy. --- All rightie, there we go. Have a good Tuesday. ---
