Smoke & Mac Wednesday, Jul. 09, 2008 - 12:09 a.m. Yesterday began here in San Francisco with blue skies and gentle winds and surprisingly mild temperatures. In the late afternoon, though, the wind had shifted, and the smoke from the fires up north finally showed up here. And when it got dark, I looked out the west window and saw amber fog with an orange moon: I'm sorry if the night picture doesn't show too well on some monitors; I juiced the contrast a little. --- In other news, Mark, the guy who lived in the apartment studio next to us and who was also a Mac guy, is going to be having dinner with us in the near future. This is news, because he's flying in from Brisbane, as in the Brizzie that Ian Maurice broadcasts from, to visit family, and he's actually gonna make an evening for John and me, and I couldn't be more thrilled! He and John and I are all still Mac people. --- I think that's it. Have a good Wednesday. Take care of your lungs and stay cool! ---
