The Visitor

Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008 - 12:16 a.m.

I wasn't sure I was going to be able to keep the date I had made with the surprise person, but here she is:

For anybody who doesn't remember, this is my friend Cheri, from Noo Yawk. She's on my cast page.

She was in San Francisco for a couple of days on bidness, and we had to see one another.

We managed to stay sober and woefully well-behaved although I do not promise what will or will not happen in any future get togethers.

---

I'd missed my afternoon nap and she was still on East Coast time, so we didn't hang out together and gab far into the night or anything like that; but it's okay because we are the kind of people who wax and wane.

There are moments when I stop and wonder what one of the most gorgeous human beings inside and out that ever touched this planet is doing in my life, and I feel extremely blessed.

---

We had dinner at Chevy's, and then afterward, we crossed the street and went over to Yerba Buena Gardens, which, despite living here since 1991, I've never actually been to see. In fact, all you folks who are out of towners, I'm gonna give you a tip: Lots of people who actually live in San Francisco have never been to Alcatraz or Angel Island or walked across the Golden Gate Bridge.

Cheri was an absolute angel to make time for me during her business trip, and we had an excellent visit.

---

Project Runway was a gas last night; the subjects were drag queens.

One of their sponsors is Bluefly, but Heidi Klum consistently prounounces it 'BOO-fuh-lye'

---

Actually, that's it. Have a nice Thursday!
