White Stockings Sunday, Sept. 07, 2008 - 12:58 a.m. Yesterday, I saw Roomie Jim for the first time this visit. He just got back from the central valley, and he grunched about the heat here in Anaheim. I reiterated what I'd posted yesterday, and took the blame for the entire thing. I brought the hot weather with me. --- Dave had a gig last night; a private birthday party, but I opted to stay at the apartment and to try to get caught up on sleep and reading my blogs and so forth. I was all set to take a nap the minute the Angels game was over. But the world of baseball had other ideas, as it often does, and the game lasted for fifteen innings. By then I'd had a second wind, so there went the nap. The Angels lost by a walk-off home run, hit by Jeff Thome of the Chicago White Sox. In addition to winning the game, boooo, Thome passed Mickey Mantle on the all time home run list, yaaaay. --- While I was watching the game, Solange came up and sat next to me, in the nice draft of the cooler. Usually she just shows me her butt, but this time we had a nice visit. --- At around half past nine last night, gunfire erupted from somewhere nearby. It turned out to be the regular display of Disneyland Fireworks. I'd been away from here so long I forgot to expect them. After my heart finished thundering, I debated as to whether or not to confess. Obviously you can see which side won. --- That's it. Have a good Sunday. ---
