Art, Lego & Sketch

Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 - 12:12 a.m.

Yesterday I met fellow Diarylander Art Cee in real life.

This is only the third time I've knowingly done this, having previously met Requiel and Onewetleg.

Art and I each had a cup of coffee near where I lived and we talked a bunch.

He did a really nice thing, and he insisted on settling the debt that had been accrued in his name.

And may I say what an insightful talk it was, as I've gained a considerable amount of perspective about certain situations.

---

How did you all do during Talk Like A Pirate Day yesterday?

I completely forgot to talk like a pirate with Art, although I managed with John, Old Buddy Dave, and even a few lines with Scott.

Otherwise, other than my post, it was a dud.

---

And finally, courtesy of FARK, two gems: First, some LEGO celebrity figurines, because otherwise the simple truth would be that our lives would continue to be empty in some undefined manner.

But now we have seen LEGO Amy Winehouse -- and we may finally have peace.

Don't just stop there, though -- Insert Deity Of Choice Here If Applicable help us all -- there's a gallery.

It's a little Brit-centric, so I don't know who everybody is, but it's still terribly cute.

Second -- A story from a teenage boy who was abducted and forced at gunpoint to drive a hundred miles, able to crash his truck just hard enough to dislodge the abductor, who then escaped with the help of an accomplice in a separate car, and able to text the word HELP to his girl. This story is special because of the police sketch of the suspect.

I've also included the link to the FARK comment thread related to this story. Enjoy yourselves.

---

Okay, there ya go. Have a nice Saturday.
