Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008 - 12:44 p.m.

Old Buddy Dave and I went to Disneyland last night.

It was colder than usual for the time of year, and the rain clouds had been threatening all afternoon, but at night, they broke up enough for us to see the moon:

It had been full the night before.

---

We went to the park and made our way to our usual spot to see the fireworks display, but sadly, the fireworks portion of the program had to be scrapped because of the stronger winds at the higher altitudes.

Instead, we went over to Tomorrowland Terrace, where one of my two favorite Elvis impersonators, Scot Bruce, was playing at ten. We'd seen him here before, and we made a point of doing it again during this visit.

The Tomorrowland Terrace is fascinating, as it ascends from a sublevel and descends again when the show is over. The park Imagineers have left it intact in all of their rebuilding and updating, and now that we are back into retro-futurism, it once again looks perfectly in place.

I muscled up to almost the front of the crowd, with the encouragement of Dave and one of the show's floor directors (thank you, whoever you were), and got this shot:

Then I took a few steps back and got some of the stage:

The show was about thirty or forty minutes, and definitely something a fan of The King needs to see at least once.

---

We had a couple of more things to accomplish there, but then we were getting cold so we went home.

As we were heading back to Main Street, Dave observed that we hadn't actually ridden anything, which I think might be a first for me in the course of a park visit.

But it had been a nice evening anyway.

---

Nothing else to report on, kids. Have a good Sunday.
