Christmas at the Espinosa household is always charming, even though this year I was the ongoing victim of the relative I've come to call The Lateral Story Hijacker.

Got something to say or an incident to relay to anybody? Well, tough titty. If anything you say bears any resemblance to something the Lateral Story Hijacker knows something about? You'll get interrupted and treated to whatever that resemblance happens to be... at length.

So, I just kind of gave up trying to catch up with anybody and sat in the kitchen with my mouth shut.

This is always eventually okay, because I have this space.

My allergies are still nasty.

The meds I take that usually do the trick are not as efficient as they usually are, and all I want to do is clear my head so I can enjoy the rest of the holiday.

I'm going back to bed for a bit.
